Tymos Terms of Use
Last updated: 4 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Thymos Software Ltd ("we", "us") about your use of the Tymos app. By using Tymos you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
1. Who can use Tymos
You must be at least 13 to use Tymos. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission. You're responsible for keeping your account password safe and for what happens under your account.
2. What Tymos does, and what it isn't
Tymos helps you limit the apps you choose, using Apple's Screen Time framework, and keeps a record of the time you get back.
- Your numbers are estimates. Screen time, phone pickups and "time returned" come from Apple's Screen Time data and from our own calculations, including projections over your lifetime. Apple's data can be late, partial or missing. Treat the numbers as a guide, not a measurement.
- Blocking can fail. iOS controls when blocking works. It can be switched off in Settings, interrupted by an update, or affected by your device or Apple. Don't rely on Tymos to keep you from anything you must not access.
- Tymos is not medical or mental health care. It isn't a treatment for addiction, anxiety, depression or any other condition. If you're struggling, please talk to a doctor or a qualified professional. If you're in danger, call your local emergency number. In the UK you can call Samaritans free on 116 123.
- Exercise at your own risk. Workout plans, exercises and training suggestions are general information. Check with a doctor before starting a new exercise programme, and stop if anything hurts.
3. Subscriptions and free trials
- Tymos needs a paid subscription to use. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is handled by Apple and charged to your Apple ID. Apple's Media Services Terms also apply.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and length (monthly or yearly) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Free trials: if a plan offers one, you won't be charged until the trial ends. We'll send a reminder before it does, provided notifications are on. Cancel before the trial ends and you won't pay anything.
- To cancel: in Tymos go to Profile → Manage subscription, or on your iPhone go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies: reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
- If we change a price, Apple will tell you before it applies to you, and you can cancel.
4. Circle: rules for sharing with friends
Circle lets you share progress, post, comment and send encouragement. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You must not post, send or share anything that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone
- is hateful or discriminatory, or attacks people for who they are
- is sexually explicit, or sexualises anyone under 18 in any way
- is violent or graphic, or encourages self-harm, suicide or eating disorders
- shares someone else's private information without their permission
- impersonates someone, or is spam, a scam or advertising
- is illegal or infringes anyone's rights, including copyright
Reporting and blocking. You can report any post, comment or person, and block anyone, from inside Circle. Blocking hides them from you straight away. We review reports within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these rules and suspend or remove the accounts responsible. You can also email thymos.software@gmail.com.
Your content. You own what you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and send it to the people you share it with, for as long as it's needed to run Circle. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for safety or legal reasons.
5. Acceptable use
Don't misuse Tymos. In particular, don't:
- try to get around a block in a way that affects other people
- access other people's data
- reverse-engineer, scrape or overload our services
- use Tymos for anything unlawful
6. Ending your use
You can stop using Tymos and delete your account at any time (Profile → Delete account). We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to by law. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why. Cancelling or ending an account doesn't by itself refund a subscription; refunds are handled by Apple (section 3).
7. Changes to Tymos and to these terms
We may change, add or remove features to improve Tymos or to keep up with iOS. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using Tymos after that, you accept the new terms.
8. Our responsibility to you
- Tymos is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always work, be error-free or produce any particular result.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably foresee, or for losses caused by your device, iOS, Apple's Screen Time or Health data, other users, or events outside our control.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Tymos in the 12 months before the claim.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for your rights under consumer law (in the UK, the Consumer Rights Act 2015).
9. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Because you got Tymos from the App Store:
- Apple is not responsible for Tymos or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it.
- Warranty. If Tymos fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for Tymos. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Tymos.
- Claims. Apple is not responsible for any claims by you or anyone else relating to Tymos or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that Tymos fails to meet any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws. We are responsible for those claims, to the extent these terms and the law say so.
- Intellectual property. If someone claims Tymos or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- Legal compliance. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you.
- Your licence to use Tymos is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's Usage Rules.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [England and Wales], and the courts there have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or another country in the EU, you can also bring a claim in your local courts, and you keep the protections of your local consumer law.
